Yes — quotes are free, and the figure we put in writing is the figure you pay. The one thing we don't do is price a job over the phone: there are too many variables to be accurate sight-unseen, and we'd rather give you a real fixed quote than a guess that changes once we're on site. So we book a short on-site visit during business hours, look at the actual job, and hand you a clear, fixed price with no surprises.

It depends on how booked we are at the time. Urgent faults are often same-day to within 1–3 business days; standard work and quotes usually sit around 3–5 business days. Our existing customers always go to the front of the queue — one of the quiet upsides of having a regular sparky who knows your property rather than starting cold each time.

We'll be upfront: we don't run a 24/7 line. If something's urgent after hours, call anyway — we'll talk you through making it safe and aim to be there first thing the next business day, which usually saves you the premium an after-hours callout adds. When we supply the parts (which we recommend), you're covered twice over: the manufacturer's warranty on the product and our 3-year workmanship warranty on the installation, at no cost to you, whichever runs longer. You're welcome to supply your own materials, but then we can only guarantee our workmanship — not the product — and a faulty supplied part is the most common reason for a return visit, which is billable to diagnose. It's why we prefer to fit quality gear we know and stand behind, so if anything ever goes wrong, it's ours to sort out, not yours.

No — and not because we're precious about it. In Australia it's illegal for anyone but a licensed electrician to carry out fixed electrical work; changing a plug-in appliance or a light globe is about the limit. DIY or unlicensed work can void your insurance and, far more importantly, put people at risk. If in doubt, leave it to us — that's what the licence is for.

Under WA law, before a property is sold, leased or hired it must have at least two RCDs (safety switches) at the main switchboard protecting all power and lighting circuits, plus a compliant hard-wired smoke alarm — and getting it wrong can stall a settlement or carry fines into the thousands. Homes built from 2000 usually already have the RCDs, but they need to be working and verified. We inspect, fit whatever's missing, and issue the compliance certificate so your sale or new tenancy isn't held up.
