We're not tied to one brand — we install Fronius, Tesla, Sigenergy, Sungrow and Schneider chargers, and can supply the unit or install one you've already bought. We'll give you honest advice on what suits your vehicle and your home, rather than pushing a particular brand.
Can you install a charger I've already bought?
In most cases, yes. We'll install, wire and test it correctly — provided the unit is suitable for Australian use and your switchboard can safely support it. We'll confirm both of those when we assess the job.
Do I need a switchboard upgrade before getting a charger installed?
Sometimes. Older boards weren't designed for the extra load a charger adds, so we check capacity as a standard part of every quote. If an upgrade's genuinely needed, we'll explain why — if it's not, we won't recommend one just to add to the job.
Can my EV charger work with my solar system?
Where your solar system supports it, yes — we can set up solar-smart charging so your car draws from your own generation rather than the grid. We'll assess your existing system and let you know honestly if it's a good fit.
Are there any rebates available for EV charger installation in WA?
Not currently, no. We'll always let you know if that changes — but at the moment, pricing you see on this page is the full picture, with no rebate to factor in.
How long does an EV charger installation take?
Most straightforward home installs are completed in a few hours, same day. Three-phase or solar-smart setups can take a little longer — we'll give you a realistic timeframe as part of your fixed quote.
Is the price you quote the price I pay?
Yes. We assess your switchboard and charger requirements on-site, confirm exactly what's needed, and give you a fixed price in writing before any work starts.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — fully. AVL Electrical is a licensed electrical contractor (EC 009938); Lyell has been licensed since 2009 and the business has operated since 2011. We carry public liability insurance, and every EV charger install is completed to AS/NZS standards.
